DHANWANTHARAM THAILAM;

Dhanwantharam Thailam (Oil) is ayurvedic medicated oil formulated for Vata disorders. It can be used internally (orally) and externally for the massage. Its internal oral intake and its external application both are beneficial in the treatment of paralysis, hemiplegia, quadriplegia, and wasting or physical weakness. It improves the strength of muscles, ligaments, tendons, and other tissues in the body. It also acts as nervine and neuroprotective, so it plays a vital role in neuroprotection and preserving the natural functions of the nervous system. It also supports the musculoskeletal system, so it is also beneficial in the pain disorders like arthritis, osteoarthritis, knee pain, backache, and spondylosis. It effects are more observable on pain and numbness as compared to Dhanwantharam Kashayam because the sesame oil is used as its base, which is itself a potent VATASHAMAK Medicine. It is also useful in puerperal diseases, children’s diseases, urinary disorders, uterine diseases, hernia, and hydrocele.

ROLE OF INGREDIENTS;

Aegle marmelos - possesses antidiarrhoeal, antimicrobial, antiviral, radioprotective, anticancer, chemopreventive, antipyretic, ulcer healing, antigenotoxic, diuretic, antifertility, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Premna mucronata - is an important ingredient of Dashmool Plants. All these plants have anti-rheumatic, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic properties.

Oroxylum indicum - ethnomedicinal systems for the prevention and treatment of several diseases, such as jaundice, arthritic and rheumatic problems, gastric ulcers, tumors, respiratory diseases, diabetes, and diarrhea, and dysentery, among others.

Stereospermum suaveolens - for indigestion, hiccups, vomiting, diarrhea, pain, fever, diabetes, liver disorders, and asthma.

Gmelina Arborea - manages vertigo, inflammation, Vata disorders, pain, piles, fever, heat, and ; It manages anemia, constipation, Vata-pitta disorder, thirst as it is cold in Potency with detoxifying properties. It is good for body heat, epistaxis, and emaciation.

Solanum Indicum - is an antioxidant, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, diuretic, immunomodulatory, and has neuroprotective effects and is diaphoretic, expectorant and stimulant also. Ayurveda has been considered it to be one of the finest herbs useful in treating cold, cough, sore throat, and asthma.

Solanum xanthocarpum - fruit as antioxidant, anticancer, and anti-HIV agents.

Tribulus terrestris - is used for kidney problems, including kidney stones, painful urination, a kidney disorder called Bright's disease, and as a “water pill” (diuretic) to increase urination; for skin disorders, including eczema (atopic dermatitis), psoriasis, and scabies; for male sexual problems, including erectile dysfunction.

Desmodium gangeticum - is used as a tonic, febrifuge, digestive, anticatarrhal, antisemitic, in inflammatory conditions of the chest and in various other inflammatory conditions in the Ayurvedic.

Uraria picta - The healing properties of these herbs are quite effective in the healing of fractured bones. The use of this herb is quite good in the treatment of gonorrhea. The roots of this herb possess aphrodisiac ;This is known to be an effective herb in the treatment of diarrhea.

Polygonatum cirrhifolium - are used in the treatment of loss of vigor, pain in the kidneys and hips, swelling and fullness in the abdominal region, accumulation of fluids in bone joints, skin eruptions, and coughs.

Polygonatum verticillatum - a highly valued medicinal herb of temperate Himalaya is extensively used to cure various health troubles as cardiotonic, antiperiodic, demulcent, diuretic, energizer, aphrodisiac, sedative, hypoglycemic, antitumor, pain reliever, general tonic, nervine tonic, etc

Cedrus deodara - acts as an expectorant and is useful in curing piles, epilepsy, stones in the kidney and bladder, useful in fevers, and in many other disorders. The oil is antiseptic in nature and helpful in curing skin diseases, wounds, urogenital diseases, diaphoretic as well as insecticide.

Rubia cordifolia - has been evaluated for its wound healing activity8. The leaves of this plant were also studied for their antiviral and in-vitro free radical scavenging activity. Apart from its medicinal value, Manjistha has also been used as natural food colorants and natural dyes.

Fritillaria roylei - is used traditionally for rheumatism, asthma, tuberculosis and as a tonic. The bulb of the species is boiled with orange peel and given in the treatment of tuberculosis and asthma.

Lilium polyphyllum - is useful in treating respiratory disorders like bronchial asthma and cough. It is also a rejuvenating and immunity booster. White Lily's soothing and astringent properties protect the skin. It is a popular ingredient in facial creams.

Hemidesmus indicus - is demulcent, alterative, astringent, diaphoretic, diuretic, tonic, anti-pyretic, and blood purifier. It is used in leprosy, skin diseases, fever, asthma, bronchitis, syphilis, pruritus and other urinary diseases, chronic rheumatism, and leucorrhoea.

Saussurea lappa - is used for treating worm (nematode) infections. Costus oil is used for asthma, cough, gas, and severe intestinal diseases such as dysentery and cholera. It is also used as a tonic and to stimulate digestion.

Valeriana wallichi - use valerian for depression, mild tremors, epilepsy, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). Valerian is used for muscle and joint pain. Some women use valerian for menstrual cramps and symptoms associated with menopause, including hot flashes and anxiety.

Malaxis acuminata - is sweet, refrigerant, aphrodisiac, styptic, antidysenteric, febrifuge, and tonic. It is useful in sterility, vitiated conditions of pitta and Vata, seminal weakness, internal and external hemorrhage, dysentery, fever, emaciation, burning sensation, and general debility.

Manilkara hexandra - is a curative Ayurvedic medicinal tree used in the treatment of excess thirst, emaciation, bleeding disorders, ulcers, bronchitis, jaundice, fever, arthritis, etc. It improves taste, promotes physical strength, and is aphrodisiac in nature.

Acorus calamus - is used for gastrointestinal (GI) problems including ulcers, inflammation of the stomach lining (gastritis), intestinal gas (flatulence), upset stomach, and loss of appetite (anorexia).

Aquilaria agallochu - is used in treating diseases related to ear, nose, throat, asthma, cough, etc.

Boerhavvia diffusa - is mainly used to treat the accumulation of fluids (Oedematous conditions) in the body. It is considered to be an effective "Rasayana". It is also used in the treatment of anemia and liver diseases as recommended by Indian Ayurveda.

Withania somenifera -is used in treating a wide variety of illnesses including asthma, diabetes, hypertension, stress, arthritic diseases, and cancer.

Asparagus racemosus - upset stomach (dyspepsia), constipation, stomach spasms, and stomach ulcers. It is also used for fluid retention, pain, anxiety, cancer, diarrhea, bronchitis, tuberculosis, dementia, and diabetes. Some people use it to ease alcohol withdrawal.

Ipomoea mauritiana - are used externally to treat tuberculosis and for the treatment of external and breast ;

Glycyrrhiza glabra - used to treat many diseases, such as respiratory disorders, hyperdipsia, epilepsy, fever, sexual debility, paralysis, stomach ulcers, rheumatism, skin diseases, hemorrhagic diseases, and jaundice.

Terminalia chebula - are used as a lotion for sore eyes. Terminalia chebula is also used topically as a mouthwash and gargle. Intravaginally, Terminalia chebula is used as a douche for treating vaginal infections.

Anethum Sowa - common use in Ayurvedic medicine is in abdominal discomfort, colic, and for promoting digestion. Ayurvedic properties of shatapushpa are katu tikta rasa, usna virya, katu vipaka, laghu, tiksna and snigdha gunas. It cures 'Vata', 'Kapha', ulcers, abdominal pains, eye diseases, and uterine pains.

Terminus labialis - has been reported to be useful in treating rheumatism, tuberculosis, nerve disorders, paralysis, and catarrhs.

Phaseolus trilobus - is used in treating oligospermia, gout, gastritis, neuropathy, fever, worm infestation, etc. It improves body weight.

Elettaria cardamomum - is used to cure indigestion, nausea, vomiting and used to expel out phlegm out of the body. It is very beneficial in congestion of lungs and other pulmonary diseases. It is also used as a laxative and used to prevent stomach pain, flatulence, and gripping.

Cinnamomum camphora - used traditionally for the treatment of heart conditions, colds, and fevers, respiratory complaints such as pneumonia, inflammatory conditions, infections, diarrhea, and hysteria.

Cinnamomum tamala - is used as tooth powder to treat dental caries, bad odor, and gingivitis. Powder of the bark of Tejpatra is mixed with honey in a dose of 3- 5 g to treat cough and asthma.

DIRECTIONS FOR USAGE;

Internal use;

Take 5-10 drops once or twice a day before with warm water or warm milk as directed by an Ayurvedic doctor.

External use;

It is also used as a massage oil for babies.
