KANAKASAVAM;
Kanakasava mainly acts on the respiratory system (lungs and airways). It dilates the bronchial passageways and increases the airflow to the lungs. It also clears the lungs by its expectorant actions. It has analgesic action, which is more useful in the management of biliary colic and renal colic. Kanakasava is quintessential in treating the common cold, sore throat, incessant cough, and flu symptoms. It also reduces chest and nasal congestion gets rid of excess sputum and stops nasal discharge.
ROLE OF INGREDIENTS;
Datura metal - analgesic, anthelmintic and anti-inflammatory, and as such, they are used in the treatment of stomach and intestinal pain that results from worm infestation, toothache, and fever from inflammation. The juice of its fruit is applied to the scalp, to treat dandruff and falling hair.
Adhatoda vasica - is useful in treating bronchitis, tuberculosis, and other lung and bronchiole disorders. A decoction of the leaves of Vasaka may be used to help with cough and other symptoms of colds. The soothing action helps irritation in the throat and the expectorant will help loosen phlegm deposits in the airway.
Glycerrhiza Glabra - traditionally used to treat many diseases, such as respiratory disorders, hyperdipsia, epilepsy, fever, sexual debility, paralysis, stomach ulcers, rheumatism, skin diseases, hemorrhagic diseases, and jaundice.
Solanum xanthocarpum - used for the treatment of many infectious and degenerative diseases in traditional medicine. The present study reports the medicinal efficacy of S. xanthocarpum fruit as antioxidant, anticancer, and anti-HIV agents.
Mesua ferrea - are useful in skin diseases like leprosy, itching, erysipelas, scabies, wounds, and excessive sweating as it provides fragility and transparency to the skin. Dried flowers are used in Dysentery with Mucus. Oil from the seeds of this tree is used in treating sores and rheumatism.
Zingiber officials - is one of the most widely used natural products consumed as a spice and medicine for treating nausea, dysentery, heartburn, flatulence, diarrhea, loss of appetite, infections, cough, and bronchitis.
Clerodendron serratum - is useful in asthma, cough, and scrofulous affections. It is given in fever and is useful in sinusitis. Juice of leaves is used with ghee as an application to herpetic eruptions and pemphigus. Leaves are vermifuge and bitter ;
Woodfordia fruticoase - is a very beneficial herb to cure a range of vast diseases, it is used to cure diarrhea, piles, and dysentery because it is a powerful astringent. Dhataki flower applied externally to relieve the burning sensation of the skin.
Vitis vinifera - used for treating sore throats and raisins were given as treatments for consumption (tuberculosis), constipation, and thirst. Ripe grapes were used for the treatment of cancer, cholera, smallpox, nausea, skin and eye infections as well as kidney and liver diseases.
Apis mellifera - is used in the treatment of eye diseases, throat infections, bronchial asthma, tuberculosis, hiccups, thirst, dizziness, fatigue, hepatitis, worm infestation, constipation, piles, eczema, healing of wounds, ulcers and used as a nutritious, easily digestible food for weak people.
Sacchanum offcinarum - in the treatment of jaundice, hemorrhage, dysuria, anuria, and other urinary diseases.

DOSAGE AND ADJUVANTS;
Take 12-24ml with an equal quantity of water and mix well once or twice a day after food or as directed by the physician.

CONTRAINDICATIONS;
Kanakasava should not be taken in the following cases:
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Tachycardia – Fast Heart Rate
Glaucoma
Elevated intraocular pressure
Patients with pacemaker
It should also not be used in children under the age of 5 years.
