THALISATHI VADAGAM;
Thalisathi Chooranam is an ancient Siddha herbal medicine, it is used to treat cough cold, and spasm.Talisadi churna is an amazing Ayurvedic powdered formulation for curing cough, anorexia, digestive disorders like Irritable Bowel Syndrome, low digestive fire. It melts the excess kapha that is deposited in the lungs and also pacifies pitta. It acts as an expectorant and is a Bronchodilator.
ROLE OF INGREDIENTS;
Taxus baccata -used by the native populations for treating common cold, cough, fever, and pain.
cinnamamom zeylanicum- is used to aid in digestion, relieve headache, gastrointestinal and respiratory disorders, and as an aphrodisiac.
Nigella sataiva - is useful in indigestion, loss of appetite, diarrhoea, dropsy, amenorrhea, and dysmenorrhoea and in the treatment of worms and skin eruptions.
Coriandrum sativam -intestinal problems including upset stomach, nausea, diarrhea, intestinal gas, constipation, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). It is also taken by mouth for convulsions, insomnia, anxiety, and to treat infections caused by bacteria and fungus.
Terminalia ballerica - is used to protect the liver and to treat respiratory conditions, including respiratory tract infections, cough, and sore throat.
Trachyspermum ammi - important remedial agent for flatulence, atonic dyspepsia, diarrhea, abdominal tumors, abdominal pains, piles, and bronchial problems, lack of appetite, galactogogue, asthma and amenorrhoea.
Ferula asafoetida - in the treatment of hysteria, some nervous conditions, bronchitis, asthma and whooping cough. It was at one time employed in the treatment of infantile pneumonia and flatulent colic. The gum resin is antispasmodic, carminative, expectorant, laxative, and sedative.
Nardostachys jatamansi -It is used as a good stimulant, antispasmodic, tonic, laxative and antiepileptic.
Embelia ribes -It is used as antibacterial, antifertility activities, antiprotozoal, abdominal disorders, lung diseases, constipation, indigestion, fungus infections, mouth ulcer, sore throat, pneumonia, heart disease and obesity, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant.
michelia champaca -used to treat diarrhea, cough, bronchitis, hypertension, dyspepsia, fever, rheumatism, abscesses, dysmenorrhea and inflammation.
Syzgium aromaticum - treatment of vomiting; flatulence; nausea; liver, bowel and stomach disorders; and as a stimulant for the nerves.
Piper longum - is most commonly used to treat chronic bronchitis, asthma, constipation, gonorrhea, paralysis of the tongue, diarrhea, cholera, chronic malaria, viral hepatitis, respiratory infections, stomachache, bronchitis, diseases of the spleen, cough, and tumors.
Anethum sowa - used in folk medicine as a carminative for the treatment of flatulence, colic and hiccups of infants and children, antioxidant, antimicrobial and antispasmodic agent.
Elettaria cardamomum - is used to cure indigestion, nausea, vomiting and used to expel out phlegm out of body. It is very beneficial in congestion of lungs and other pulmonary diseases.
Saussurea lappa -its anti-ulcer, anti-convulsant, anti-cancer, hepatoprotective, anti-arthritic, anti-viral ;
Santalam album - cold, cough, bronchitis, fever, and sore mouth and throat. It is also used to treat urinary tract infections (UTIs), liver disease, gallbladder problems, heatstroke, gonorrhea, headache, and conditions of the heart and blood vessels (cardiovascular disease).
Cedrus deodara - is used in the treatment of fevers, flatulence, pulmonary and urinary disorders, rheumatism, piles, kidney stones, insomnia, diabetes etc.
Myristica fragrans - used to treat stomach ulcers, indigestion, liver disorders, and as emmenagogue, nervine, diuretic, diaphoretic, and aphrodisiac.
Shorea robusta -treat variety of diseases including piles, leucorrhoea, gonorrhea, skin disorders, ulcers, wounds, diarrhea, dysentery, burning sensation, seminal weakness, etc.
Vetiveria zizanoides - applied directly to the skin for relieving stress, as well as for emotional traumas and shock, lice, and repelling insects. It is also used for arthritis, stings, and burns. Vetiver is sometimes inhaled as aromatherapy for nervousness, insomnia, and joint and muscle pain.
Glycyrrhiaza glabra - used to treat many diseases, such as respiratory disorders, hyperdipsia, epilepsy, fever, sexual debility, paralysis, stomach ulcers, rheumatism, skin diseases, hemorrhagic diseases, and jaundice.
Cuminum cyminum - used as the spice for their distinctive aroma, they are also commonly used in traditional medicine to treat a variety of diseases, including chronic diarrhoea and dyspepsia, acute gastritis, diabetes, and cancer.
Saccharum officinarum -is antispasmodic, carminative, expectorant, laxative, and sedative.
