TIKATA GHRITHAM;
Tikta Ghrita is an Ayurvedic medicine, in herbal ghee medicine has ghee as its base. It is used for preparatory procedure for Panchakarma and also as medicine, used mainly for skin diseases.
ROLE OF INGREDIENTS;
Patola – Trichosanthes dioica – is used as tonic, febrifuge, and in subacute cases of enlargement of liver and spleen;[5] in Charaka Samhita, leaves and fruits are used for treating alcoholism and jaundice. Leaves are used in edema and alopecia. [6] It is also used as antipyretic, diuretic, cardiotonic, and laxative.
Nimba – Neem – is used for leprosy, eye disorders, bloody nose, intestinal worms, stomach upset, loss of appetite, skin ulcers, diseases of the heart and blood vessels (cardiovascular disease), fever, diabetes, gum disease (gingivitis), and liver problems. The leaf is also used for birth control and to cause abortions.
Katuka – Picrorrhiza kurroa – is a well-known herb in the Ayurvedic system of medicine and has traditionally been used to treat disorders of the liver and upper respiratory tract, reduce fevers, and to treat dyspepsia, chronic diarrhea, and scorpion sting.
Darvi – Berberis aristata – is used in ayurvedic medicines from very long time. It is used as a tonic, alternative, demulscent, diaphoretic, and diuretic, in the treatment of diarrhoea, jaundice and skin diseases, syphilis, chronic rheumatism and urinary disorders.
Duralabha – Alhagi pseudalhagi – as a purgative, diaphoretic, expectorant and diuretic used to treat piles, migraine, warts and ;
Parpata – Fumaria indica – is used in aches and pains, diarrhoea, fever, influenza, liver complaints, vomiting, constipation, dyspepsia, blood purification, leucoderma, anthelmintic, diuretic, diaphoretic and, in combination with black pepper, for jaundice.
Trayamana – Gentiana kurroo – is used in stomach-ache and in urinary infections. the root with ginger root powder is also used for curing high fevers . The roots were also used as bitter tonic, and as an antiperiodic, expectorant, astringent, stomachic, anti-inflammatory, antipsychotic, sedative, anthelmintic and antibacterial.
Musta – Cyperus rotundus – is a medicinal herb traditionally used to treat various clinical conditions at home such as diarrhea, diabetes, pyresis, inflammation, malaria, and stomach and bowel disorders.
Bhunimba – Andrographis paniculata – Fever, colic pain, loss of appetite, irregular stools and diarrhea, common cold, cough, fever, hepatitis, tuberculosis, mouth ulcers, bronchitis gastro-intestinal disorder and sores.
Kalinga – Holarrhena antidysenterica – is widely used in traditional medical system for treatment of constipation, colic, and diarrhea.
Kana – Long pepper – Piper longum – is most commonly used to treat chronic bronchitis, asthma, constipation, gonorrhea, paralysis of the tongue, diarrhea, cholera, chronic malaria, viral hepatitis, respiratory infections, stomachache, bronchitis, diseases of the spleen, cough, and tumors.
Sarpi – ghee – is antibacterial and antimicrobial in nature. It can also effectively treat cough, pneumonia, and excessive phlegm.

INDICATIONS;
It is used as medicine and also in preparatory procedure called snehakarma for the treatment of skin diseases, leprosy, visarpa, carbuncles, burning sensation, dizziness, itching, anemia, vomiting, non healing wound, wound with pus, sinus, abscess, blisters, inflammation, psychosis, heart diseases, eye diseases, malabsorption syndrome, leucoderma, jaundice, fistula, leucorrhea, piles.
Tikta Ghrita is traditionally administered as a part of Ayurveda autumn regimen, because it helps to balance Pitta
DOSAGE AND ADJUVANTS;
Take 1-2 teaspoonful in the water twice a day after food, or as directed by an Ayurvedic doctor.
