It is given in cough with honey, constipation with hot water, and conjunctivitis.

Its decoction is used to wash the eyes periodically. A decoction of the Chooranam is used to wash and clean wounds and ulcers. further, this can be used for gargling purposes also. it allays the severity of diabetes mellitus[ Sarkarai noi / Mathu megam].

Used as a general tonic especially for eyes with equal quantities of honey or ghee.

DOSAGE AND ADJUVANTS;

Take 1-2 gms with water, honey, or ghee, 2-3 times a day after food or as directed by the physician.
